What is there not to like about this book?!
I would like to commend the author on the atmospheric world-building and the richly descriptive prose that was able to evoke a sense of desolation and tension that permeated every page. The book’s desolate world is not just a backdrop; it’s a character in itself, actively shaping the lives and decisions of its inhabitants.
The characterisation of all the major characters is compelling, revealing their complexities and vulnerabilities in a way that feels authentic and relatable. The interplay between their need for survival and their search for meaning adds depth to the story, making their journey both physically and emotionally engaging.
The novel’s central theme—the exploration of mystery and the unknown—is handled with a deft hand. The author raises questions about the nature of reality and the secrets we must confront to survive.
