About the Book

A secret past. A dangerous world. A truth she was never meant to uncover.

Ellie has spent her life on the edge of the supernatural world—raised by werewolves, yet never truly one of them. Among predators and power plays, she knows one rule above all: stay out of trouble.

That rule shatters the day Karl enters her life.

Driven by his obsession with a decades-old disappearance, Karl believes Ellie holds the key to answers buried deep within the supernatural world. Answers tied to her past… and to the night her family was torn apart.

As tensions rise between rival factions and hidden agendas collide, Ellie is forced to question everything she thought she knew—about her family, her place in this world, and the people she dares to trust.

Because in a world of legends and shifting loyalties, the truth is never what it seems, and getting too close to it could cost her everything.

Perfect for fans of urban fantasy with mythological twists, slow-burn tension, and complex alliances.

About the Author

Mel Dufresne

Mel Dufresne is from the western suburbs of Montreal, Quebec. By the age of ten, she
was already spending most nights reading under the covers with a flashlight and the rest
of her time dreaming about writing her own stories. At seventeen, she left home to
continue her studies. She met her partner in Quebec’s Lower St. Lawrence region and
cheerfully offered him a lifetime of servitude in exchange for good meals. Luckily, he’s
the one who does the cooking—and it’s better that way. They now live in the suburbs of
Quebec City with their two wonderful children and an affectionate, if not especially bright,
dog. Her guilty pleasures include chocolate and paranormal romance novels.
