Meaning: 

A mystical force present in all people that empowers them to affect the world or to effect change in their own lives

or

Invisible magic power believed by the Iroquois to pervade all natural objects as a spiritual energy.

Antonyms: None

Word Origin: Iroquoian

It’s use in a sentence: “They believed that all natural things had orenda in different degrees.”

    I can say with all honesty that I’ve never heard that word before. It’s an interesting one to stow away, so thank you for presenting it to us. I don’t think I could use it in my Viking tales, though!

      I guess he’ll be coming till Feb 😦
      We’re not getting a place better than the one we are already staying in. And I really really love this place, but sadly dogs are not allowed here… I hope we’ll find something better in the next 2-3 months or else I’ll have to wait much longer!

    Thanks for this word. So many of the place names in Michigan (where I live) are derived from Native American languages. Come to think of it, Michigan is one of them (Mishigami). 🙂
