Summary

A perfect murder
A faceless witness
A lone courtroom champion knows the whole truth . . . and he’s only thirteen years old
Meet Theodore Boone
In the small city of Strattenburg, there are many lawyers, and though he’s only thirteen years old, Theo Boone thinks he’s one of them. Theo knows every judge, policeman, court clerk—and a lot about the law. He dreams of being a great trial lawyer, of a life in the courtroom.
But Theo finds himself in court much sooner than expected. Because he knows so much—maybe too much—he is suddenly dragged into the middle of a sensational murder trial. A cold-blooded killer is about to go free, and only Theo knows the truth.
The stakes are high, but Theo won’t stop until justice is served.

Review

Theodore Boone

Other Stuff

The Opening Line

“ Theodore Boone was an only child and for that reason usually had breakfast alone.”

Highlights

The easy flow of the story and the fact that how simply Theodore is shown doing complicated and mind-bending stuff.

Lowlights

None.

Memorable Paragraph

“ How could it be that he, Theodore Boone, knew the truth about the Duffy murder? Of all the people in Strattenburg, some seventy-five thousand, why him? The town’s biggest crime since something bad happened back in the 1950s, and he, Theo, was suddenly in the middle of it. ”

Final Thoughts

An easy read. Theodore, according to me, is an extremely adorable character. Will definitely recommend it to teenagers.

I used to love John Grisham! I never missed any of his books but then he became very 'boring'! Have you read The Painted House? I did not like that! After that I never read John Grisham. Great review!

My husband has worked at B. Dalton, Brentano’s, Waldenbooks, Borders, and Barnes & Noble for 37 years. He was (past tense purposeful) always bringing home pre-published books and proofs, many of them autographed by the authors. I think we might have a complete collection of Grisham in PP&P books, many of them autographed. Sadly, last Sunday was his last working in the book industry. He took a higher-paying job with CVS Pharmacy.

Amazing! Atleast you have a few John Grisham’s signed books. I wish to get atleast 1 signed for myself from any author someday… lol 😉

The problem, though, with signed pre-published books and proofs is that you can’t sell them. Used book stores won’t take them, libraries won’t take them, eBay won’t take them. So I have this huge library and don’t know what to do with it. I can’t bear to throw books away, so they sit here taking up space. When I have to downsize because of age, it’s going to be a sad, sad time.
